line with the ideals conceived by Dr. K.M. Munshiji
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Karnataka Chapter
has taken various initiatives in promoting education
imbibing Indian culture and ethos to all the sections
of the society. Karnataka Chapter’s latest
project in pursuit of its objectives of providing
education is a school coming up, on Mysore Road
in Chamarajpet Bangalore. The location of the
school has a mix of people from all social strata
with more migrant and economically weaker sections.
Bhavan’s objectives have been to provide
quality education for all sections of the society
in general and in particular to the weaker sections
in the area.
The school will impart education
under ICSE pattern from Kindergarten to Class
10. The building will also have facilities for
co-curricular activities like fine arts, games.
The construction of the school is being carried
out with the generous donations from philanthropists.
The school will provide free computer training
to the needy in the area at the Computer Lab sponsored
by Microsoft.
The school will have a total
area of 60,000 sq. ft after complete construction
and spread over 6 floors (Ground+5 floors). The
construction of the school is underway and the
roof slab of the fourth floor has been cast recently.

The total cost of the school
is estimated at Rs. 717 lakh. The school has just
made an humble beginning during the current year
2010-11 with Kindergarten classes.
While
the Ground floor will have the kindergarten sections,
1st and 2nd floor will house the primary Class
1 to Class 4. The 3rd and 4th floors will have
12 spacious class rooms (cabled for internet facility)
to house 5th to 10th standards, labs, faculty
rooms besides toilets for boys, girls and faculty.
The floors will have wide corridors of 15 ft for
children to move around. The 5th floor will accommodate
Bhavan’s cultural activities.
