Music runs in the veins of Ghatam Vidwan N. S. Krishna Prasad. Son of Vainika Vidwan G. N. Subramanyam, Krishna Prasad was tutored by Vidwan Sama V Giridhar and Vidwan Dayanand Mohite. His father trained him in vocal and veena. A 'B-High' Graded artist at All India Radio and Doordarshan Bengaluru since 1998, Vidwan Krishna Prasad accompanied Veena Maestro Vidwan M N Prashanth Iyengar for a world record event for 25 hours, adjudicated by Limca Book of World Records held on 21.04.2010.
